Abstract

The decree of the Covid-19 pandemic promoted a scenario of uncertainties in different areas of human life, including education. Due to this scenario, this work aimed to investigate the development of pedagogical practice and the process of teachers' adaptation to Emergency Remote Teaching with the use of technologies as a mediating instrument in the teaching-learning process of students. As a theoretical basis, publications dealing with the issue of coping with the pandemic in the educational context amid the challenges of Emergency Remote Teaching were used. The methodological procedures of this study include a qualitative approach with an exploratory objective, where a questionnaire with 11 open questions via Google Forms was used, applied to eight teachers from two public schools in Roraima, aiming to identify the reality in two different contexts, four of the teachers work in the capital Boa Vista and four in the municipality of Alto Alegre, 87 km from the capital. The results show that both teachers from the capital and from the countryside, for the most part, had to adapt to remote teaching and feel insecurity and unpreparedness in the face of the use of technological means, requiring continuous training for this purpose, and even with a scenario of adaptations, feel frustrated and tired. However, they show the importance of a differentiated look at the post-pandemic scenario regarding new forms of teaching, as well as a self-reflection that they need greater preparation in the face of knowledge and use of technological means.
