KNOWLEDGES REQUIRED FOR THE SOCCER COACHES: A LOOK FROM THE SOCCER PLAYERS

The study was based on the perception of soccer players as to the soccer coaches’ knowledges should be lean in order to achieve, together, the sportive success. The study was essentially organized from three categories of knowledges - professional, interpersonal and intrapersonal - and then confronts them with the specific literature regarding the sports coaching activity. Sixteen federated soccer players participated in a semi-structured interviews and discussed about thee competences required for the role of soccer coach. The answers of the were explored using the Content Analysis technique, confirming the qualitative approach of the study. Twenty knowledges were listed, all defined by an inductive analysis and within the triad of pre- established categories. The results assimilated the overlapping of interpersonal skills in relation emphasizing the importance of managing social relationships in this sport without, however, a proportional imbalance among the professional and intrapessoal knowledges.References
