EFECTO DE LA EDAD RELATIVA EN EL BALONMANO ESCOLAR DEL ESTADO DE MATO GROSSO

El Efecto de la Edad Relativa (EIR) se refiere a la diferencia de edad entre atletas de la misma categoría, lo que causa desventaja para aquellos nacidos en los últimos meses del año en comparación con los nacidos en los primeros meses. Por lo tanto, el objetivo del presente estudio fue investigar la existencia del EIR en estudiantes-atletas de balonmano de ambos sexos que participaron en los Juegos de Mato Grosso (Brazil) en 2021. La muestra constó de 237 estudiantes-atletas de la categoría A (15 a 17 años), 97 femeninos y 140 masculinos, que participaron en los Juegos Escolares y Juegos Estudiantiles de Selecciones del estado de Mato Grosso (Brazil) en 2021. Los análisis de significancia por cuartil se realizaron mediante el chi-cuadrado (x²) y la corrección de Bonferroni. El resultado analítico de las fechas de nacimiento de los estudiantes-atletas indicó una mayor proporción de nacimientos en el segundo trimestre en comparación con el cuarto trimestre del año. Se concluye que el EIR está presente en el balonmano masculino, pero no en el femenino.
