Alteritary Dialogical Education for a practice of responsible teaching activism
Keywords:
Alteritary Dialogical Education, Alteritary listening, Responsible act, Classroom PracticesAbstract
We raised some questions about how students can take an active role in the planning and implementation of classes, based on the notion of alteritary dialogic education. (SOBRAL; GIACOMELLI, 2020) which is oriented towards the formation of a critical subject who assumes his ethical commitment to respect for difference, as constitutive of relations in/of/throughout the world, as well as to affirm Alteritary Listening practices (SOBRAL; GIACOMELLI, 2020), with which the other is recognized as a singular subject who co-participates in an interaction, respecting their specific way of being, and seeking to provoke responses that are also alteritarian (SOBRAL; GIACOMELLI, 2020). We guided our considerations, discussing different understandings of the roles of the school, teachers and students. Finally, we intend to emphasize that the organization of classes with the responsible coparticipation of students is related to ethical acts of self-knowledge and understanding of the uniqueness of the other, such as being able to actively participate in decision-making processes of the destinies of your life; critical reflections on the tense relationship between school and other institutions; and engagements in favor of “quality of life” in classrooms and society in general.
