Abstract

Our goals are to describe and to analyze the graphematic variation of consonants and vowels and aspects of the segmentation which  are written in a book of commitment from Goiás in the 18th century .The methodology is both bibliographical and documentary , being based on bibliography due to our use of authors whom dialogue on Historical Sociolinguistics and the grapheme-phoneme relationship, such as Romaine (2009 [1982]), Gimeno Menéndez (1983) and Almeida-Baronas and Lini (2011) . And documentary because it is used  in this study  a manuscript that served as a basis for extracting the data we present.
