O mapa mental é uma ferramenta de planificação e de anotação de informações de forma não linear, o que favorece a memorização, a criatividade, a organização de ideias e possibilita a análise de dados qualitativos. O objetivo desta pesquisa é identificar qual é o panorama dos artigos sobre mapas mentais publicados na base da Scientific Periodicals Eletronic Library (Spell) e da Scientific Eletronic Library Online (SciELO). Utilizou-se a base de dados da Spell (Scientific Periodicals Electronic Library) e da SciELO (Scientific Eletronic Library) para o levantamento dos artigos que continham, em seus resumos ou em seus títulos, as palavras “mapas mentais”. O levantamento, realizado em novembro de 2018, identificou 19 artigos, 09 artigos na base de dados da Spell e 10 artigos na base de dados da SciELO. Os resultados desta pesquisa evidenciam que o tema pesquisado é emergente e que as reflexões realizadas possibilitam iniciar um debate acerca da produção científica brasileira sobre os mapas mentais, considerando a importância e relevância da temática.
