A historic building is part of the material heritage of a society and requires interventions over time to ensure its preservation. In order to implement these actions in a planned manner, surveys of their state of conservation must be carried out, in degree and detail that vary according to historical value, purpose and complexity. The traditional techniques for carrying out these surveys, based on inspections, measurements, photographs and 2D records, have been, nowadays, replaced by digital tools for capturing images and building models supported on the BIM platform. This article aims to discuss survey processes with innovative reality capture technologies - photogrammetry, generation of point clouds, 3D modeling. The methodology consisted of analyzing the executive stages of three studies that used different techniques to consolidate a roadmap of good practicability practices for each one of them. The contribution is made by providing subsidies for application in future works, considering the context of the state of Mato Grosso.
