This research presents a proposal for technological innovation that seeks to disseminate the research structure to the various Brazilian municipalities through the use of alternative, low-cost equipment that is effective and reliable for collecting and recording meteorological data. The main proposal of this project is to build an alternative weather station, using the Arduino UNO microcontroller, with the aid of electronic sensors that capture atmospheric variables, such as air temperature and relative humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind speed and precipitation. By proving the effectiveness of the alternative weather station, through comparison with data collected by INMET's conventional station, using the MAE, RMSE and R² statistical indices, it proved possible to increase the atmospheric data collection network using low-cost equipment, as well as helping to draw up strategies and diagnoses and implement strategic plans to ensure the population's quality of life.
