TAI CHI CHUAN COMO INTERVENÇÃO MULTICOMPONENTE PARA IDOSOS

Resumo

O Tai Chi Chuan (TCC) tem sido amplamente investigado para promover a saúde e funcionalidade em idosos. Esta revisão narrativa analisou evidências sobre os efeitos do TCC como abordagem multicomponente na força muscular, equilíbrio, flexibilidade e capacidade aeróbia. Foram incluídos 15 estudos, demonstrando que o TCC pode gerar incrementos em diferentes manifestações da força muscular, além de melhorias significativas no equilíbrio estático e dinâmico. Com menos relatos na literatura, também foram observados ganhos na flexibilidade da cadeia posterior e indicativos positivos na capacidade aeróbia. Os achados sugerem que o TCC pode ser uma alternativa viável aos exercícios tradicionais para idosos, especialmente em contextos com restrições de infraestrutura. Conclui-se que o TCC pode atender às diretrizes de exercício para idosos, contribuindo para a promoção da saúde e prevenção de declínios funcionais.
