Abstract

The aim of this paper is to report on the experience of an extension initiative called “Initial and Continuing Training”, which enabled members of the Social Work Knowledge Connections Tutorial Education Program (PET SSO) at the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL) and the Ezequias Rocha Rego Reception Center (CAERR) to work together. In addition to the experience report, bibliographical and documentary research was carried out in order to provide a theoretical basis for the discussion and present the history of the relationship established between CAERR and PET SSO. The activity took place through thematic modules, in which the content was presented by professionals who make up the network for combating violence and guaranteeing the rights of minority population segments. The results obtained from the evaluation of the activity show that the participants considered it to be satisfactory and very satisfactory. The comments left on the questionnaire confirm the importance of the action for the CAERR team, as they highlight the contributions to practice, training and professional interaction. In addition, the topics covered contributed to the training of PET SSO students, by deepening the knowledge acquired at university.
