This study analyzed the morphometric development of Carapa guianensis plantations in the Santarém region, Pará, aiming to identify the need for silvicultural management. A total of 150 trees aged 11, 13, and 17 years were evaluated, with data collected on diameter at breast height (DBH), canopy diameter (CD), total height (TH), commercial height (CH), and canopy insertion height (IH). Heterogeneous development and intraspecific competition were observed from age 11, evidenced by canopy contact and a Coverage Index indicating full space occupancy. DBH and CD averages stabilized over time, while TH, CH, and IH continued to increase. Variability in DBH and TH grew with age, reflecting intensified competition. The relationship between DBH and CD was strong and significant (R² from 0.59 to 0.81). The stands showed predominantly straight stems (>85%) and high stem quality (>65%). Early competition suggests that the species requires wider spacing for optimal growth. It is concluded that early and successive pruning and thinning, guided by morphometric parameters and the DBH/CD ratio, are essential to manage competition, promote diameter growth, and ensure the stability and sustainability of Carapa guianensis plantations.
