Photography and aesthetics for image pedagogy

Abstract

In this work, we approach the subject of photography with a focus on technical images aiming at an understanding of how they are present in the space-time of the contemporary world, especially in Education. From there, we raised a problem question: what does photography reveal as an image pedagogy? We start from the concepts of device, aura, magic and dialectical image, supported by Walter Benjamin and Vilém Flusser philosophy. Our aim is to mediate the glance in order to examine the technical image and the dialectical image in the perspective of technical reproducibility. As a result of this theoretical foray, we expose arguments that even in the incessant technical reproduction we see ways for an image pedagogy from photography when it has the potential to echo something beyond technique and photographic devices, enabling processes of creation and imagination that surpass life automated by devices.
