Abstract

This article addresses the trajectory of Pajé Itambé in the process of demarcating indigenous land in Aldeia de Coroa Vermelha in Santa Cruz Cabrália-BA. His arrival in this region was marked by difficulties, conflicts and struggles for recognition of the land, exercising leadership as a chief and recognized within the community and outside it as a shaman, as he is known to this day. Oral sources, newspapers, magazines, photos from personal collections and documents from the demarcation of this indigenous land were used as sources of documentation for this article.
