From historical fascism to tropical microfascism: a conceptual turn

Authors

Abstract

This article aims to discuss the implications of the notion of fascism with regard to the analysis of our current situation, in view of our most recent political scenario, marked by hate relations. We will present four conceptions that permeate the debate and disputes over their meaning: historical fascism, telemedia neo-fascism, fascism of ambiguity and micro-fascism (tropical). We will give more emphasis in our analysis to tropical micro-fascism, aiming at building theoretical-methodological clues that allow us to evaluate our practices and the way we invest our social relations.
