Um observatório do patrimônio cultural: ações e práticas patrimoniais em experiências de campo e em partilhas virtuais

Abstract

In this article, we aim to share some initial reflections on the activities of the digital platform “Observatório do Patrimônio Cultural do Sudeste”, created to monitor the dynamics of heritage actions in the SE region of Brazil, based on ethnographic research. We take as a conceptual reference the notion of mise-en-memoire (in potuguese: memoração), understood as a set of communicational cycles that sustain the dynamics of patrimonialisation processes. We tested the hypothesis that the observatory's contribution to the transmission of heritage practices and their social meanings is not the only point of view from which the collaborative processes engaged in this function can be understood. We consider that this is due to the fact that the ethnographic interaction is  not only methodologically instrumental, and has also a kind of virtuality that allow the effects of ethnographic encounters to unfold outside the series of documentary records.
