This article aims to analyze the processes of recreation and negotiation of kinship, from the mobility of young Kariri-Xocó “gueis” to the city and their subsequent return to the village. Understanding mobility as a kinship content, it appears that displacement acts as a way of managing criticism and conflicts with family members. The discussions mobilized cross the immateriality of Ouricuri, a sacred ritual among the Kariri-Xocó, concluding its role in the production of relatives and in the restoration of bonds between those who leave and those who remain in the village.
