Abstract

This review seeks to present and reflect upon the publication of Neoliberalism as management of psychic suffering (2021), organized by Vladimir Safatle, Nelson Da Silva and Christian Dunker, understanding that it is a systematic analysis of neoliberalism in contemporary times, looking into it’s theoretical and discursive depth, and how various fields of knowledge are crossed by political circumstances conditioned by neoliberalism. Based on the authors' analyses, I problematize how ethnographies in the field of gender studies deepen the scientific scope of this production, in turn locating the contributions of anthropology to the debate on suffering and neoliberalism.
