Abstract

In intersectionality, more than two forms of vulnerability shape the experiences of an individual. Regarding LGBTphobia and the reality of homelessness, it is essential to question whether the health demands of this intersection are being met and whether health interventions are effectively implemented for this population. This integrative review aimed to investigate the impacts of LGBTphobia on the health of the homeless population. The study analyzed texts published in Portuguese and English between 2017 and 2023 that addressed the physical and mental health of this group. Sixteen publications were selected, some based on ethnographic methodologies where researchers directly interact with the study subjects. After reviewing all available materials, it was evident that, despite the social relevance of the topic, there is a lack of comprehensive studies and significant difficulties in accessing health services due to barriers such as the requirement for identification documents and institutional prejudice. Although public policies exist to support this population, their implementation remains limited, especially in large urban centers.
