Abstract

This review revisits the work of Angela Davis, an important figure for North American black feminism, entitled Women, Race and Class, published for the first time in 1981. The discussion goes through the factual legacies of the slave past, focusing specifically on the relations of work and family formats. Later, there is talk about the relationship between women and the domestic environment in the face of capitalism and industrialization; This work also focuses on the attempt to hierarchize social causes and the racism disguised in the struggles to end slavery and women's rights. Finally, there is a debate about the formats of modern racism that Davis synthesizes in his production.
