Thinking about soccer and the city: Catanga Futebol Clube ethnographic notes
Abstract: The present work seeks to point out how the practice of sports and the act of cheering imply in the expansion of social dynamics, since it was by playing and cheering for the neighborhood team that the fans and players of Catanga circulated, relating with various people and spaces in the city. Thus, starting from an ethnographic study, the objective of this work is to understand how the relationship between the neighborhood and soccer is formed, taking a look at the paths through fields, bars and avenues, where different ways of relating and specific practices were mobilized around soccer to rethink and also formulate the city in which they lived.
