This study aimed to evaluate the ability of the Mehlich-1 (M1) and Mehlich-3 (M3) extractants to determine extractable Cu and Zn contents in agricultural soils of the Mato Grosso Cerrado with a management history of liquid swine manure (DLS). The sampled areas, with sandy loam and sandy textures, were divided into four 15 ha plots each, with soil sampling conducted at three depths (0.00–0.05; 0.05–0.10; and 0.10–0.20 m). The collected data did not meet normality assumptions and were analyzed using non-parametric methods (Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis), adopting a 5% significance level. For Cu, both extractants showed similar performance in sandy loam soils, while M3 demonstrated greater efficiency in sandy soils. In contrast, M1 exhibited higher extraction capacity for Zn in both textural classes. Despite differences in extraction magnitude, a significant correlation was observed between the concentrations determined by M1 and M3 for both nutrients. The results suggest that in Cerrado soils managed with DLS, extractant efficiency depends both on soil texture class and on the specific chemical affinity of each element.
