Abstract

Inclusive special education is one of the topics much discussed in the educational field, and carrying it out safely and effectively has been an eminent challenge for many teachers, especially when it comes to methodologies for teaching geography. Therefore, this article aims to present an inclusive pedagogical practice through a workshop for producing tactile thematic maps using the Braille alphabet and low-cost materials with great social relevance. This possibility facilitates learning for students with visual impairment. Methodologically, the study results from a qualitative-quantitative perspective, with bibliographical research on inclusive education in Brazil, the use of Braille, and the importance of inclusive methodologies. Therefore, the work made it possible to understand the importance of teaching practice to guarantee meaningful teaching/learning for everyone so that the rights of students with visual impairments are respected and guaranteed.
