The objective is to understand the role of Geography in this context and to analyze the curricular guidelines adopted in Goiás’s state public school system, focusing on environmental themes and their articulation with the demands and realities of young people. To achieve this objective, a qualitative study was conducted from a collaborative perspective. The methodological approach involved a literature review as well as documentary research and document analysis. The article provides a critical reading and analysis of curricular documents and legal frameworks, proposing pathways toward a more meaningful Geography education for young people
