Eficiência da alocação de recursos públicos com educação na região centro-oeste brasileira

Abstract

Education is constitutional law and plays an important role in the development of society. However, with the country's regional socioeconomic differences, negative situations in the quality of education have been presented in social indicators. The present study aimed to evaluate the performance of the allocation of public resources in the Midwest region, in 2015, classifying the municipalities according to the level of efficiency, representing them in a positional ranking. Data were collected from each municipality in the databases of the Information System on Public Budgets in Education (SIOPE), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (INEP). The results showed that, of the municipalities investigated, there was prominence in the state of Goiás and Mato Grosso, to which they presented a greater amount of efficient DMU's, demonstrating that they made good use of their resources. It is necessary that further studies allow the updating of results by municipality from 2016, since it was not possible to collect current data from later years, because they will allow an expanded view of the results by municipalities (municipal schools), and respectively of their managers, and may address other methodologies and variables.
