This article investigates the modus operandi of the SJC in cases of violence against women, considering the characteristics of violence and the procedural manifestations of Várzea Grande (MT). We analyzed the perceptions of legal professionals about gender, patriarchy and violence, the obstacles and challenges faced in the implementation of Law 11.340/06 and the perception of women who were violated about the experience and care given by the SJC. Content analysis techniques were used in sampling complaints, filings and sentences of violence against women from January to December 2017.
