Abstract

Women's daily lives are marked by insecurity and different forms of violence (physical, moral, sexual, property, etc.) to which they are subjected daily. In this sense, the objective of this article is to understand how structural machismo, arising from patriarchy, contributes to violence against women being a perpetuated practice in society. Focusing on work on sexual harassment, a bibliographical survey was carried out to understand the concepts of gender and intersectionality, and how they explain the reality of violated urban women. Through the survey, it was possible to establish a relationship between the lack of urban mobility, one of the elements of insecurity for women, and the perpetuation of acts of harassment committed by men.
