Abstract

Public green spaces provide a set of ecosystem services important for the environmental quality of cities. In this sense, the objective of this investigation is to address the environmental quality of the green spaces of nine towns in the province of Córdoba, through four spatial indicators constituted as governmental management tools. The indicators used showed that small green spaces predominate, with few large spaces but which have the highest percentage about to the total surface. It is concluded that the measured indicators are valid to evaluate the environmental quality of green spaces and that they must be expanded and complemented to address a greater dimension of the functions they fulfill. Finally, the valorization through the present work is the first local, regional, and provincial precedent that constitutes the basis for new research.
