Tithonia diversifolia é uma planta herbácea da família Asteracea que pode ser popularmente conhecida como margaridão, girassol-mexicano, mexican sunflower ou mão-de-deus. Essa planta possui grande relevância etnobotânica devido a sua multifuncionalidade e versatilidade em diferentes aspectos da vida humana, entre elas seu uso como fertilizante para diversas culturas agrícolas, alimentação animal, inseticida botânico e na etnofarmacologia. O presente trabalho oferece uma revisão de relevantes e recentes pesquisas oferecendo uma síntese harmoniosa entre a sustentabilidade agrícola e saúde humana proporcionada por T. diversifolia.
