Abstract
The world industry is going through a transformation phase with Industry 4.0, where Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) play a fundamental role in making this process effective. The concept of Industry 4.0 has expanded to agriculture and livestock, including the sugar-energy sector, in which Brazil has been presenting itself, in recent years, as the world's largest producer of sugar and ethanol. One of the great challenges of the sugar-energy industry is to maintain a continuous supply of industrial mills with the raw material of the field, therefore it is essential the good management of the logistic operations of Cutting, Loading and Transport (CCT), activities responsible for the delivery of cane -sugar to the industry. With the advancement of Industry 4.0 and ICT in the sugar-energy sector, this work focused on finding and analyzing, through a case study in the largest sugarcane processor in the world, how the deployment of ICT in Industry 4.0 in CCT logistical activities can improve management. With the findings and analyzes it was possible to identify the contributions of the use of ICT in the management and decision making in the CCT process, in addition to verifying the existence of opportunities for improvements, mainly in the industrial process, since the implementation of the ICT of the studied company it was limited only to the agricultural area.
