Abstract

The scientific production in the area of finance in Brazil is vast, but it faces some problems such as academic productivism, foreignism and parochialism. Much work has been done in the area so far, but there are few who intend to make an analysis of the general and current panorama of the area. Based on this evidence, this paper aims to analyze the scientific production of EnANPAD and of the Financial Journals with Qualis Capes ≥ B1 from 2009 to 2018, as well as to identify which are the most addressed topics in the traditional finance subareas. and behavioral finance, check which authors are the most prolific and find out which magazines publish the most articles in the field. To this end, a bibliometric study with 899 articles was performed through two software: Mendeley and VOSviewer. It was found that the number of articles published in the area varies according to the database and subarea analyzed, that the distribution of academic production is divided into two groups: the first group contains a large number of authors who published only one article and the second group has a small number of authors who produced a large number of articles. There is also a nucleus of accounting journals that most published articles on finance in the period studied. It was also noted that in the behavioral finance subarea, the issues of “financial literacy” were the most recurrent, while the topics of the capital market and publicly traded companies were the most addressed in the traditional finance papers, represented by the term “Brazilian publicly traded companies”. It was concluded that the publications are focused on issues about large corporations, noting the need for works that address the daily issues of small and medium enterprises little addressed in the articles analyzed.
