Resumo

Dear researchers and readers

 Emphasizing the importance of biodiversity in the modern world, it is possible to highlight in the anthropocentric perspective that biodiversity and biological resources are essential for the subsistence and quality of life of the human being.

Inserted in the context of biodiversity we enjoy in the forms of natural resources classified in the categories of uses, food, medicinal and technological. The latter provides models for innovative solutions in technology and efficient economy today.

A politically important aspect in the definition of "biological resources" by the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) is the reference to "potential use or value". For this reason, biodiversity must be protected in general, either through environmental awareness, correct policies and scientific research, in order to publicize the protective actions on biological diversity in the world today.
