The use of Geotechnologies, such as geoprocessing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS ), has contributed significantly to the advancement of evaluation and quantification of the numbers in the Pantanal deforestation process and also helps to identify factors contributing to the current state biome. Based on this statement, the objective of this study is to analyze the deforestation monitoring the Pantanal biome between 2002 and 2008 with the use of geotechnology. With the use of satellite images , such as Landsat TM 5 in ArcGIS software, it was possible to carry out environmental assessments, highlighting deforestation to obtain more information on the real situation of vegetation cover around the Pantanal. The ArcGIS software enables the monitoring of deforestation through the vectorization of polygons on satellite images. And the definition and quantification of disturbed areas, maps are drawn up, calculations and some statistics in order to establish, identify and spatially visualize the distribution of suppression of vegetation biome. Thus, geoprocessing is the main source of deforestation analysis in regional and global scale, providing greater understanding and ease in finding new sources of environmental degradation with accurate data and site evaluation for conference areas in significant amount of loss forest biome.
