Resumo

ABSTRACT: The purpose of this paper is to investigate the terms used daily by teachers of different subjects at school through the analysis of the seventh grade schoolbooks in Elementary School. The role of all teachers with relation to the teaching of the language is then studied. This is the first part of the research. In here, the collected data are shown and the relationship between these data to a conceptual system is discussed. It was found that education in the state of Mato Grosso, which is involved in teaching the students the universal scientific concepts, gives birth to the general knowledge. All teachers are both language teachers of the terms in their area of knowledge and also teachers of the reading and production of the scientific-cognitive structures in which such terms appear.
